A month or so ago, the Transport Secretary, Chris "Failing" Grayling awarded the contract to operate ferries out of Ramsgate to Belgium or France to Seaborne Freight.
Seaborne Freight did not own a ferry.
Or boat.
They had never moved an item of freight previously.
The company had assets of less than £100.
And their website had copied and pasted their terms and conditions from a pizza delivery company.
Yet the Department for Transport awarded them a £15 million contract.
In these Brexit times, this wasn't surprising.
Less surprising though is that today, the DfT had to announce they had cancelled the contract as Seaborne could not prove they can provide the service, as their main backer had withdrawn.
There are many things Grayling should have already resigned for, least of all his record at the Justice Ministry where he was also Lord Chancellor, where under his, his post was shown to have broken the law than any other previous Lord Chancellors.
He won't resign. Why should he, I mean, he's got this far by showing no apparent skills or aptitude for any job he has been given.
This is Brexit Britain. Grayling is in charge of all transport policy in the UK.
