Nissan and Brexit

Last autumn the Japanese ambassador stated that in the event of the UK leaving the SM and CU, that within a decade there would be no Japanese companies left in the country.

No one listened. Or no Brexiteers listened.

So, said "fuck business".

So now, it is reported, and no one is doubting this, that in the leave-heaving voting area of Sunderland, Nissan are going to reverse their decision to build their electric car, the X Trail, there. A reversal of a decision taken in autumn 2016 four months after the Brexit vote, and haoled at the time as a vote of confidence for Brexit.

That was before Brexit became harder and harder, and may possibly be no deal Brexit, companies, both UK owned and others, are going to press the panic button. There is very little time to waste, to change course, but for the time being, there is no sign of that, and so the captain of the Titanic, May, suggests that the iceberg thinks carefully about its course to strike her ship.

Well, reality is here, there can be no more fudging, but wit there no Brexit business in the Commons this week, you would think there was nothing to worry about.

Things are going to get fore fraught. Mark my words.
