Getting some in: Part 4

Dateline: 31st October 1990, 20 Flight, RAF Swinderby.

Hi,

Please note the postcode, it seems your letters have been going via Surrey. Probably my fault as I put the wrong letter in my address in a previous letter.

AC Jelltex It's Thursday dinner time and we have just had half an hour in the CS gas chamber. Not fun. I think we all passed, but one girl freaked out and had to be taken out. And this afternoon we are having another mile and a half run. Ass we've had PT three times this week already, plus loads of marching, we are all very tired.

Our inspection went well on Tuesday, so we've got no bull nights this week. We do, however, have an exam tomorrow. If we fail it, we have to retake on Sunday,a nd if we fail again, we'd be re-flighted.

Things are not too bad here, but there is lots of bad feeling with the "senior man", he is very unpopular and causing big issues within the flight.

More later, must go.

(time passes)

It's now 19:27 hours, I did the run in 11 minutes dead as we had to drag the senior man round so he passed. Its all about teamwork, apparently. We've got this exam tomorrow, but we were just called into an unexpected extra lesson and told the answers by our Flight Commander. So we should pass.

RAF Swinderby We got into trouble this afternoon because of of the flight were not marching properly, so we have extra duties to do tonight, so I have to go.

I won't be coming home at the weekend, but looking forward to see you next Wednesday at the parade.

See you soon,

Ian
