This week saw the total deaths from COVID pass the dreadful mark of 200,000 in the UK.
And yet, apparently, Johnson "got all the big calls right."
He did not.
Neither is CVID over.
Another wave is sweeping across the country, the latest figures (which are quite out of date):
New cases up 24% on the previous week.
Hospitalisations up 18%
Deaths up nearly 33%.
And each infection has a 10% of developing long COVID. It is estimated that over 400,000 people are suffering, and some have been dealing with the effects for over two years. It is possible that long COVID really means for life, and the cost of caring for these poor people will have a significant effect on the NHS and how much we as a society have to spend to support them. But many fell ill because Johnson wanted to unlock the economy before it was safe.
Every death, every case of long COVID is a life cut short or a lifestyle impaired.
All so the PM was able to say he got the big calls right.
And that's before we talk about all the grifting.
Dido Harding spent £37billion on Test and Trace, and no one has been the receipts.
