Either the end of Brexit or the start of the forever Brexit Wars

So, earlier this week the PM and the EU announced the revised NIP and Sunak scrapped with NIPB which would have, under just UK law, the UK Government to break an international treaty.

Neither Johnson or Frost said anything for two days.

Johnson broke cover yesterday saying that he probably could not vote for the deal if it came to Parliament. Most other Brexiteers have said, for now, they’re happy.

Which present Sunak with either a problem or an opportunity, because Johnson used those MPs voting against his deal before the 2019 election to suspend the party whip from them and then expel them from the party. If Sunak would dot he same to Johnson, it could assert his authority over the party and maybe purge it of Brexitism.

It might be the only way it will survive.

Thing is for Brexiteers who want to fight on, their argument no only is not based on facts or reality, it is on technical points. Does it really matter who has jurisdiction in NI on some points of trade when most can’t afford to eat or heat their homes.

At what point do Brexiteers just give up?

Like all true believers, belief is everything, and some will never stop, chuntering on and on about Brexit betrayal. Yes, I’m talking about you, Nigel.

But as previously stated, Sunak has shown what can be achieved, or more can be achieved, by sitting down and talking and being trustworthy,
