Not listening to experts

Experts come in many shapes and sizes and guises.

Take head teachers.

They said that the plan for opening all classes for primary schools was unworkable. The Government pressed on anyway.

And today, the Government had to admit defeat, and bowed to the inevitable, that there just wasn't enough space in schools for all children to be there and socially distance.

Well.

Schools cannot reopen, but plans are underway for bars and pubs to reopen before the end of the month, putting financial gain ahead that of public safety.

Having followed this group of politicians and aides that make up the current Government lie their way through the referendum, and then into Government, showing them to be totally unsuitable and unprepared for the crisis that swept over them, sorry if I don't believe a word they say, when they hide vital data to show how well, or how poorly, their new test and trace app is going.

As I said before, if they got so much of COVID wrong, what else could they have got wrong and what lengths would they go to to hide it?

Government policy is now announced at COVID briefings, or in columns in newspapers that are hidden behind paywalls. This is not democracy.
