Another U turn

This evening, the PM, or Number 10, announced that the annual surcharge for no UK workers in the NHS to access the very service they help provide was being waived.

This shows what a functioning and coherent opposition can achieve, shaming the Government into retractions and changes in policy. More in 24 hours that Comrade Corbyn achieved in five years. Although Momentum won't like that being pointed out.

Those workers already pay taxes and NI, so the surcharge is a second tax. Of course, that all who run our newspapers and back Brexit pay little or no tax should not be lost on us.

So badly is Johnson doing in PMQsm that the Leader of the House, JRM, is trying anything to get MPs back into the House so they can pretend to laugh at Johnson's jokes. Could we have those plastic screen they have in the supermarkets, the MP for Victorian England asked.

No.

A number of Tory MPs accused Labour and SNP MPs of being lazy and workshy in not wanting to return to Westminster. Bear in mind their leader is the most workshy fop of them all, Alexander Boris de Piffel Johnson. AWOL for almost a week until he is hauled back to the Commons for his roasting from Starmer.

Meanwhile they have convinced themselves they can bring a no deal Brexit in for less money, and so, apparently, see no need to compromise in negotiations with the EU.

Reality and industry will have something to say about that, meanwhile DD has being going round to who will have hom on their radio shows repeating the old lie that the German car industry would arrive at the last minute to force a deal through. We've been waiting for four year now, David, chances are you are just very, very wrong. And stupid.

The UK is barreling out of lockdown, with no plan. A lockdown was supposed to be a pause where the country prepared for the next phase. Instead the Government is only now looking at recruiting testers and tracers, while Gammons with little or no Common Sense go to the seaside to be interviewed on TV to complain about those who come to the beach. Easing of the lockdown should only happen with a full testing infrastructure in place, so the virus can be monitored in real time to highlight and isolate any hot spots. Not ease lockdown and think about how things should be done, while people go to the beach, national parks of queue to get to KFC and McDonald's.

It is madness, and shows that the morons in charge, have no idea what they are doing.

Even if they did recruit 15,000 testers and tracers, what about training, and how would they do their job, in that the app they were to use will not be ready? Saying you've employed people is different from them actually doing a decent job. Hundreds of thousands volunteered to help in the NHS back in March, and never heard anything else, as there was no structure to implement the plan. Just good headlines for 24 hours, and then move on like it never happened.

But it shows the way this Government and the modern Conservative Party now operates, on English exceptionalism. Try to do it on our own, or we don't do it. We won the war on our own, you know? Same is true through Brexit and through this crisis, turning down help and assistance on the wider European and international community. Beause, we'd rather pay James Dyson to spunk millions up the wall to design and build a medial ventilator from scratch that take part in an EU lead scheme to buy functioning ones. That that decision cost until hundreds and thousands their lives is either here nor there.
