Change of plans

Last summer we agreed to on a cruise with our old friend, Mary, from Folkestone.

A 17 days cruise from Tilbury to Norway and onto Svalbard. Mary and her friend had already booked, so be linked our bookings so that that we would sit on the same table at meals.

Then Jen said she would like to join us too. So she booked, and linked her booking with ours, so we were going to have a fine old time.

So all was set. We paid the balance of the cost, then the week later, shit hit the fan.

The tour company was hoping that things would calm down and was waiting for Johnson to make his speech on Sunday. When it came, part of the added guidance in the 60 page leaflet that came 24 hours later was that cruises were suspended until the 26th June.

That meant no cruising for us. No dining at the captain's table.

We will either receive a refund or be offered an alternative next year of 125% of our refund value. If we want.

It sounds tempting.

But we have plans.

And high on our list is going to Australia and New Zealand.

That is the plan. Are the plan. You know.

Once we get the refund, decide what to do with our time off this year, we will look at next year and beyond. And maybe have a plan.

But no travel next month, as expected, but as one door closes, others are ajar.

News as we get it.
