Today's COVID infection rate increased by 25% in a day, and doubled in less than a week.

Deaths are now up to 76 today.

The question, though, is is this an accurate figure, as there are known bottlenecks in testing capacity?

THe way the Goverment has handled COVID mirrors the way Johnson and May handled Brexit. One unforced mistake after another, with one there is the very real risk that the Government's key policy will destroy large parts of the economy and most exports, while the other has already killed nearly 70,000 people and the second wave is about to break.

But it is the public's fault that infection and death rates are climbing, nothing to do with Government policies or their mized messages.

The Chancellor, when asked about a help package for the Creative Industries that generated £112 billion towards the nation's GDP, suggested they retrain for other jobs.

Bear in mind that through the last lockdown, and maybe the next one, the nation relied on the arts to get them through. Remember, bankers who almost bankrupted the economy in 2008 get aid package, actors and musicians don't.

And he added that it is his sacred duty to balance the nation's books, suggesting austerity on stilts in the new year. Finally, remember the last dose of Tory austerity nearly doubled the national debt, killed 120,000 people, and made the top 1% twice as rich.
