A new age of unreason

I have spoken before about a documentary about Spanish Flu, and the mistakes made, the anti mask riots, the refusal to have lockdowns, the supression of infections and deaths and the economic lessons that cities and states that locked down harder and earlier recovered quicker and had a less severe financial hit.

I thought, now in the information age, that could never happen to us. We will all see the facts, and understand the need for masking, lockdowns and we will be fine.

And instead we have this, the age of stupid. The age of me.

Doctors, nurses, national medical officers, experts in their respective fields, all being abused, threatened, chased off social media. Marches and rallies for removal of restrictions, just as restrictions were being lifted. As data showed how Government mistakes lead to renewed waves of infections and deaths, newspapers and media cheer the same Governent on as they make the same mistakes.

I have no words for the age of stupid: the Neil Olivers, Laurence Foxes demanding it be their RIGHT to infect others so they can go maskless. One was once a respected broadcaster whose shows on Britain's coasts and Vikings and Celts were wonderful, but his stupidity now means I will never watch his stuff any more. And he is now a presenter on the UK's version of Fox "News", GB TV.

THe news had a report that people flying out to Mexico on holiday found out mid-flight that their destination was to be moved to the red list, meaning each person would have to pay nearly £2,000 for two week's quaratine upon return. Just because you can do these things doesn't mean you should.

Science can tell us things we should be doing, ust be doing to surpress the spread of the pandemic, its lamost like the Government and others want as many people to die as possible. Which with Johnson's Government is only too believeable.
