The foreseen emergency

Well, foreseen by everyone except the PM, his Cabinet and the ERG.

Apparently.

Operation Brock, the temporary lorry park on the coastbound side of the M20, which legislation for was due to run out in October, is to be extended, permanently. Which shows that the Government expects problems at the border constantly. Or, be ready to deploy it.

And, of course, the legislatation will be passed by SI, no debate in Parliament, no votes, not consult the people of Kent or Kent County Council, no, rather than find solutions, prepare for the avoidable emergency.

As I have said before, new border restrictions will into force in October and in January, and the UK Government is showing no inclination to solve these, rather let the country suffer, just like touring musicians ad other creative industries, the option of touring and working in the EU27 is now so difficult, expensive, it'll not be worth the effort in going. Not that it has stopped the Government lying about the situation, stating that it has been solved. It hasn't.

But Conservatives have nothing but contempt for the arts.

Only things they can bathe in the reflected glory of, like the Olymics. Even though funding promises made to get the 2012 Games have been broken, stadiums and facilities allowed to be razed, and some sports having funding withdrawn, that the UK won the same number of medals as in 2012, let the PM and the right wing press crow about that.

Oh and another warning we sounded, and was ignored, was that mobile phone companies would reintroduce roaming charges for UK customers in the EU. Oh no they won't said the Brexiteers. Today, Vodafone stated roaming charges will be brought in from January.

So much winning
