Brexit consequences

A Commons Trade Committee yesterday warned that delays and costs to trade would only increase through the year as more controls were introduced.

As this should be a surprise to anyone.

Controls that have already been introduced by the UK for imports mean that any mistake in the way the three IT systems that interact with each other, or mistake on document submission can cause delays of days that cost huge amounts of money as well as time.

In the end, all but the biggest importers will just give u, meaning less choice and supplies in shops for ordinary people. Those who can afford it, will always get what they want, for the rest of us, what will be available will also be more expensive.

I don't recall reading that on the side of a bus.

And as the the extra £10 billion that that long-forgotton Brexit bonus was supposed to pay for, Johnson raised taxes to pay for added costs in the NHS and the Heath Minister says there will be no improvement for at least two years.

Again, not only not on the side of the bus, but the opposite.

Meanwhile, Canada has said in talks that the cost of the UK joining the North American tade group would be to accept hormone injected beef. Just like was warned in Project Fear.

It seems that having Brexit doesn't mean getting everything you want, but different trade off with different nations, most of which will have a negative impact on UK farmers and businesses.

Sigh.
