Project mismanagement

For seven years, I worked on commercial projects, installing wind turbines in the sea.

This was a long and complicated process, and an increasingly large part of the planning process was risk identification and mitigation.

It was the job of all on the management team to identify risks and opportunities, and offer robust suggestions on how these could be mitigated or built upon.

Heaven forbid if an unidentified risk cropped up and you as the resposnsible manager hadn't seen it coming.

If I would have been on the Brext Project, and we had got to the stage where the country had left the Eu and 13 months after economic Brexit and 2 full years after political Brexit, that one of the prime movers, JRM, was still trying to find a use to which to put Brexit to.

Last week he asked readers of the Sun for their ideas, and yet three days later he wrote in the Sunday Express:
THe question that should be asked here is, bearing in mind on Thursday you had so little idea of any benefits for Brexit you were reduced to askin readers of The Sun for their input, and yet by Sunday you were happy to announce "big wins" for Britain.

My regular reminder that any Brexiteer who speaks of benefits for Britain is leaving NI out of the picture, as to include them you would have to say UK. These things are important.

Anyway, my point to all thi is, had we run a project the way Vote Leave ran Brexit, we would have been fired and the project killed the company.

Instead, the country limps on, nothing by damage and disaster to show for it, and the plan now is for greater divergance, which will only server to make the borders with the EU and NI harder than ever, and cost more for British companies to export.

But blue passports and pints of champagne!
