I quite like four day weeks. Not as much as three days weeks, clearly. But better than five day ones.
And so with the week to be a day short this week thanks to the bank holiday on Monday, more good news as the sun's progress across the sky, or the earth's progress round the sun now means that it will get lighter each morning from now on. Its already getting lighter in the evenings, but hard to tell most times.
Anyway, Friday and to work, after the uplifting day on Thursday, what would Friday bring?
Well, for our monthly social meeting, we all shared pictures for our respective family Christmases, and what was amazing was that it is celebrated in India too, and they have the same decorations as we do, though never having seen now and ice in Chennai.
I then had to complete an agenda for another audit to be done, this time by the end of the month, so had to get the draft out, which I managed before two, at which point Jools had taken the cats to the vets for jabs, and we were off out to do some shopping at Sainsbury's, as we had some money left on a gift card, her Christmas bonus from the factory.
We didn't need much, so spent less than fifty on a few bits a pieces, though we also bought cider and whisky.
Because.
A quick drive to the central car park, and a brisk walk to the sea front to the chippy so we could have fish and chips for our early tea.
I order skate, and Jools has haddock, which we wash down with tear or coffee.
It is good sitting in the seats nearest the front window, watching as the world goes by.
The food comes straight out of the fryer, and is golden crispy goodness.
Back home just before dark to unpack, make a brew and have one of the last slices of Christmas cake before the football in the evening on the tellybox.
Oh, and I won the music quiz this week. Get in!
