Operation Stack/Brock: day 2

As you will see the title has changed, or is changing.

It probably is Op Brock rather than Stack as RAF Manston is being used.

Last ninght, Johnson made a televised announcement, he had expected an agreement to have been made with France for reopening the border. But there was no agreement, there was no news.

But there was only 160 trucks queuing on the M20. He lied, there was over 500, and 900 by the end of the day. And 1500 by this morning.

So as the day progressed, traffic piled up, the only advice given by the Transport Secretary was "don't travel to Kent". Which if you need to go there to get the ferry home, is a bit inconvenient.

As I said, RAF Manston has opened to receive trucks, I am sure the twelve foot barbed wire fence will make the drivers very happy and very much at home.

By the end of today, there were some 3,000 trucks waiting on the M20 or Manston, but there are hundreds, if not thousands on the side of Kent's roads, many dual carriageways are no singled as lines of trucks sit and wait. Here in St Maggies there are five lorries within 200m of our house, as the last of parking spaces are taken.

BBC news have just said those on the M20 have no toilet facilities, no water, no hot food. I saw none at Manston either, but there might be.

People will be able to travel from midnight tonight, but no news on freight though.

We were told that we should be happy that the Government had made preparations such as Manston. But if something to deal with apndemic is needed for Brexit, its hardly going to be good, is it?
