Welcome to the weekend and a whole new month.
A month in which I have lots planned, but more of that another time. But did mean there wasn't much pressure on going out and doing stuff.
But after coffee, there was Tesco to go to and do hunter/gathering stuff, including ingredients for our Christmas cakes.
Yes, its time.
If anything, we're a little late in starting.
I have a weeke off work, remember, so will cook these over two days.
Tesco was mostly well stocked, but as usual there was almost no washing up liquid, and it seems the bread delivery failed, as that aisle was empty. We end up spending a lot, but in that there is the stuff for the cakes, beer and a bottle Maderia.
Back home to unpack and have breakfast. I do fruit and follow that up with bacon butties.
Yummy.
Now, it would be easy to sit around and do nothing, but I say we should go out for a walk, even if the paths would now be even muddier after the heavy rain on Friday.
In contrast to the rain and wind on Friday, Saturday had mostly clear blue skies, and light winds. Though that was building.
Very few butterflies seen over the fields, just a single COmmon Blue and no Clouded Yellows. We walk up the slope to the bench, and sit and watch as a small flock of birds; Stonechats and a few Chiff-chaffs looking for seeds and/or insects in the stubble. The male Stonechats showed very well in the bright sunshine. Sadly, I just had the macro, which is good enough to identify the birds, but not worth posting.
Back down the slope, the small group of Horse Chestnuts that have been going golden for a couple of months now, are now surrounded by conkers and the half open fruits spilling even more of them.
Back home in time for a brew, and time to listen to some footy on the radio.
Brunch was chorizo hash along with a bottle of fizz. I cook that so that by the time it was done, we could eat have have cleared away before the football started at three. Norwich were away at Blackpool, and huffed and puffed to a 1-0, which put us back just one point behind Sheffield Utd, in second.
Yay.
Then there was more football to watch on the tellybox, and have Craig on the wireless.
A perfect evening.
And despite in doing very little, we were both pooped by
