Brexit weekend

I think it is fair to say, that some kind of Brexit is going to happen. It is now too late to do anything about it, other than revoke A50, and neither party are saying that's an option.

In fact, there is no time for preparation of any form of Brexit, including no deal, what with domestic legislation and getting ports and airports ready for the additional checks, it will be chaos. Possibly a permanent state of chaos.

This morning, all roads into Dover were blocked by port traffic, and lorry drivers, trying to get round the jams, drove through town jamming those too. Tjis is just because it is the start of the school holidays. Come Easter it will be worse, plus Brexit.

I went into town today to get an International Driving Permit, as my UK driving licence will not be enough from March 30th. A real and meaningful change. On top of that, we will need travel insurance when we travel, as we won't be able to access free medical care because the UK is no longer in the EU.

So, what will happen beyond March 29th?

It is very difficult to see how both parties can carry on as they are now, if Brexit will be anything like the disaster forecasted. If I were a Europhile Tory MP, I could not stay in the same part as DD, JRM and Johnson, same in the Labour party staying in the same party as Corbyn, Hoey, etc. A new centre party will be formed, and it will probably fail de to the electoral system we have, but both parties will lose their brightest stars, and in the Tory party, that is leaving them with intellectual lightweights like DD, IDS and Failing Grayling.

A realignment of the two main parties, and all will be tarred by whether they were remainer or Brexiteers. But all who facilitated Brexit, in particular, those who voted to allow May to send the A50 notification will be vilified. And rightly so.

At the moment, those Tories who speak out against Brexit, are now being threatened, and in some cases living in fear of their lives. Let us not forget it is less than three years since Jo Cox was murdered in the street because she cared about immigrants. This is were we are now, a country of hate, spite and threats.

And all this since we celebrated being British at London 2012.

Since 1997, the Conservatives have been in sole Government for less than three years, and have managed to allow Brexit to happen.
