About turn

Many Conservative MPs and leadership contenders who just a few days ago were saying how dreadful and bad no deal Brexit would be, have apparently had second thoughts when the "prize" of a place in Johnson's Cabinet is offered.

Latest to flip flop is Amber Rudd, who shamelessly went onto the Marr show to say she has been convinced that no deal can be used as leverage and be accepted.

Well, that's not what you said two weeks ago, and so you longer count as having any views worth listening to.

So, ministers, former ministers and potential ministers are more than willing to put their careers and party before the good of the country.

Other than that, a quiet day in the world of Brexit with was shoved aside by orchids and then the Cricket Cup Final.
