Democracy in action

Apparently, the fact that only 160,00 party members can vote for the new Tory leader has meant that some have been issued two ballot papers to make it seem more democratic.

Or not.

Yes, it true, some members have received two voting papers.

It is odd that although there is two more weeks of hustings, many members will already have voted, meaning the whole charade is rather pointless.

I mean, why worry whether Johnson appears in a TV debate when the tiny percentage who can vote, have already voted?

It is all very pointless.

As is the fact that the only way to win is to pander to the base instincts of the blue-rinsed members of the party, double down on the lies and bullshit, as that is all the members want to hear, and how Boris, or Jeremy, will ride on a steed of truth, brandishing the mighty sword of truth in order that the EU will bow down before their Englishness, and capitulate immediately.

There will be no renegotiation, especially for Johnson, who the EU have a very dim view of. And who can blame them?

Or either of them?

One has compared the EU to Soviet Russia and the other compared it to Nazi Germany.

Johnson yesterday concentrated on justice. No more soft justice. Anyone who has been following justice on social media, in particular @secretbarrister who has highlighted the multiple failure in the entire justice system from the police and their lack of funding and resources in investigation, collecting and verifying evidence and the way that is forwarded to the DPP, and then the under-funding and closures of courts around the country, and those that remain open are understaffed.

Maybe, tackle those issues, and justice might not be soft? But easy soundbites are so much easier than tackle the root causes.
