A country forever divided

Tomorrow, in her annual broadcast to the nation, The Queen will call on the country to pull together.

This is a clear reference to Brexit of course, but let us be honest here, no matter what happens between now and March 29th and beyond, the country will never be brought together, and the same goes to the main political parties.

Whatever flavour of Brexit happens, Brexiteers who wanted something else won't be happy, neither will those who voted remain. And if the UK remains, I am sure Brexiteers won't be too happy either.

And I can state that I will never get behind Brexit, ever, and if it happens and is every bot as disastrous as predicted, then I will shout very loud at everyone who voted Brexit, "I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO" and "WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN"

At no point has May tried to reach out to the 48% who voted remain, shown some kind of desire to take into our points of view. But it us who have to unite behind this absolute clusterfuck of a Brexit. No fucking chance.

Someone I respect, Matthew Parris, sated that whatever happens common sense will mean that it won't be as worse as expected, so stop worrying, the bad stuff will only last for a few days.

I hope he's right, but let me say this, for the EU do reduce the effects of a no deal or hardest of Brexit, we would have to leave on good terms and have been seen have to have acted in good faith. Those who have followed either my posts here or Brexit away from BBC bulletins, the UK has acted in the opposite of good faith, trying to twist and/or get out of what had been agreed. Or once front bench politicians who says that they would either be looking to renegotiate the WA or scrap it if they were to get into power.

Bad faith on top of bad faith, and will just make the EU ensure whatever is agreed is watertight, or there be huge penalties for breaking it. Or, for example, withholding any of the financial settlement would mean no WA or trade deal until the UK pays. So any UK politician who suggests such a thing fails to understand the consequences of such a course. Which is about par for Brexit of course.

But, no Brexit until Boxing Day at least. Enjoy Christmas Day.
