Words fail me

If Brexit has taught us anything, it that it is now a united block of 27 countries, united in protecting each other, and in particular, protecting the rights and interests of Ireland.

This should be of no surprise, but apparently, to some Brexiteers and Tories it is.

The Irish should know their place was a comment attributed to a senior Cabinet figure, showing that they really have learned nothing.

Ireland has been an independent country for 97 years, and that it might have its own interests and red lines, and the EU might back them up never really occurred to Brexiteers, who now facing the reality of their car crash Brexit just scream and wail like toddlers denied an ice cream.

Ireland is facing economic trouble as great as the UK is with Brexit, and they have no say, so are looking after their interests, and who can blame them?

Meanwhile, the PM has been touring Europe getting stuck in cars and begging for help in trying to budge the logjam in Westminster. But the EU have said, that the WA is not up for negotiation, they might try to reword the framework, but that is it.

But for the most part, it is take it or leave it.

Tory backbenchers might try to topple May, after it is reported, again, that the 48 letters have been submitted to the 1922 committee, but then we have heard that before.

And in Westminster the farce continues, with most MPs knowing the game is up, but speaking to the media, a May supporter can be heard saying May is battling for the best deal for Britain. The best deal for Britain will be staying in the EU of course. It is now just a matter of when she is deposed, not if. Could be tomorrow, or could be in January of the much anticipated meaningful vote never happens.
