Saturday 12th March 2022

Home.

I like the sound of that. And the concept.

Home, even after a week is good.

But, being a Saturday, there are chores. First up is Tesco, then to the butcher and then a walk.

Seventy one So, better get to it.

Tesco was calm, and even with six bottles of tripel, the bill came just over £40, while filling half a tank with gas came to £44, but that was with four extra bars of Twix Doubles.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge Because weekend.

We drive to Preston, first time in a month, mainly as Jen had been invited for dinner and had requested lamb. So, go to Preston.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge The back road through Nash was closed, so we had to go to Wingham and double back, battle traffic past the poorly parked cars on the hill. Even worse on the way back where, in theory, I had right of way, but a guy on a pick up didn't see it that way. He got quite upset I didn't stop for him or give him enough space to get by.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge Still.

A shoulder of lamb, some wild garlic sausages, more steak and a topside joint came to £60, not as bad as it could have been I think.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge I offer Steve a quid for Chelsea seeing as they're technically bankrupt now. He laughs, but knows its serious.

Back home for breakfast of bacon butties made with the best smoked butchers streaky rashers and a fresh large brew.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge I could get used to this life.

The morning slipped by, but I knoew I wanted to go for a walk, so at half twelve we go out, me armed with a camera and Jools with a bag and her litter picker.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge We soon split up, I forge ahead up Station Road, then along Collingwood before taking the turning to Windy Ridge and along Green Lane.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge Lots of wild flowers to be seen, mostly Alexanders though, but also red deadnettle, daisies, dandelions and other stuff, all photographed.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge Sadly the bench was occupied, so I press on down the hill, past the farm to home.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge Back in time to see the last of the Fulham game. I was expecting them to be 5-0 up, not 1-0 down against Barnsley, but the get a late equaliser, then miss a gold chance to win it.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge Then the main games at three, Norwich not playing until Sunday, so no pain, just watching the scores come tumbling on via the video feed for Football Focus.

A sunny walk to Windy Ridge The evening game was Man Utd v Spurs, and it was a wonderful game, ended up Ronaldo 3, Spurs 2.

Hot cross buns for supper, then to bed at half eight.
