Delay or no delay

Today (Wednesday) the PM is going to request to the UK that A50 is extended by a few weeks.

This is because her cabinet is split on whether there should be one at all or one for longer.

Remember, the EU Parliament rises middle of April and will not again sit until after the EU elections. The EU Parliament needs to ratify the WA once, or if, the UK does.

An extension of two months only gives two real weeks of action, as after that, if the WA is not ratified by Westmionster, there will be no way for the EU to rubber stamp it.

That the UK cannot make up its mind about delays, relationships or Brexit in general, that is the UK's problem, and will nobble Brexit and whatever comes at the end of this.

Even if May decides how long she wants to request the extension for, there has to be a reason for it, not just to kick the can down the road. It might just be they refuse that as there is no point.

And then the shit really hits the fan.

As of half one in Brussels, no such request had been received from UK.
