What now?

So, May's WA lost it's second MV by 391 to 242.

Or the third largest ever defeat in history in the Commons.

It is grim.

Were it not my country, I might find it interesting, or fascinating.

But this is my country, falling apart at the seams, now pissing it's own trousers as it lies pissed in the gutter after picking a fight with all its best friends.

There is no upside.

We have just 17 days before Brexit day, and as before, its easy to decide on something you don't like, but some other course needs to be agreed, and in substantial numbers to show the EU that a deal, any deal can pass.

No sign of that now.

May cannot continue like this.

Tomorrow there is a vote on no deal. She is not whipping her party on either for or against, further alarming our EU partners.

As I write this, Brexiteers are trying to resurrect Malthouse, despite Barnier warning that Parliament should only vote on what is possible.

The choice is now between no deal and no brexit. With the possibility of asking the EU27 for an extension, if there is a good reason for one. And an extension of at least 9 months, probably longer, meaning EU elections in May.

I really have no idea what happens now, but as ever, the default is no deal.
