Saturday Brexit

Last night the EU's position on a possible extension to the A50 process was leaked.

Nothing much of any shock, though maybe to May and the cabinet.

An extension beyond 2nd of July requires EU elections to take place in the UK, and an extension agreed beyond that date and there having no EU elections in the UK would terminate the extension on the spot.

The EU have "locked" the WA, in that no other member state can insert other conditions, like Spain pushing for a Gibraltar clause. So, not much to fear there.

But the political loss of face by May and the Conservatives to have to admit to the nation that elections were needed will be huge. But I am sure it will be spun to blame the EU rather than lack of planning and failure to get all legislation through The Commons.

There is just 13 days until Brexit day, and the default position is no deal. An extension requires a unanimous approval by the EU27.

You cannot transfer lies into policy and not expect failure.
