And there are arguments for whether chlorine washed chicken is safe or not. But what we can say, is that it is not acceptable in the EU, and if the UK were to let it in from the US, then the EU would put up hard borders and rules of origin checks for all chicken products.

This is very simple to understand.

As a third country, the UK can either accept rules from the EU or US, but not both.

Pick one or the other.

This is the reality of taking back control.

Chicken will flood the country, undercutting farmers and producers who will already have been priced out of their European markets.

This will be the final and deepest cut.
