Brexit in contempt

Dominic Cummings, now Johnsons's chief advisor, was found in contempt of Parliament earlier this year, and the committee he failed to turn up has now written to Johnson requesting that Cummings now attends, what that he works for Number 10 and all that.

Even more astonishing then, that today, an interview in one of the Sunday "papers", don't matter which, in an interview, Cummings said that it is now too late for Parliament to stop no deal Brexit.

Contemptible words from some in contempt.

Parliament has shown it can legislate and pass laws in 24 hours if need be, and one suspects that the Commons will not take kindly to being lectured to, not least someone who has so little respect for their institutions.

Parliament is currently on summer recess, and will only return for a few days in September, so time is short.

Time is short in the EU to as the EU institutions are also on summer break too.

The UK is demanding, at least in interviews with the Torygraph, that the EU must remove the backstop or face a no deal Brexit.

This is us threatening to cut our legs off if we don't get our own way.

The EU will not drop the backstop, s it will be the UK's choice for a no deal or not. It clearly has no political mandate, so that showdown between Government and Parliament is getting ever nearer.

Liz Truss can change her mind from three years ago from vting to remain to be a firm no deal Brext leaver now. But she baulks at the thought of the electorate changing their mind the other way.

Fuck me stupid.
