Meat Loaf remainerism

I would do anything to stop no deal Brexit, but I won't do that*.

* being either vote for an alternative course of action, or back an alternative leader of a Government of National Unity.

So, there we have it.

And then there is the arithmetic regarding Johnson losing a VoNC, would enough Conservative MPs vote against their own party, even in a no deal situation? Coupled with that fact that at least half a dozen Labour MPs will vote with the Government, Hoey for one, meaning that the 21 potential Tory defectors could be outvoted. In the end, we just don't know.

Today, former Chancellor, Hammond, stated that there is no mandate for a no deal. Such a thing was not mentioned in the referendum, and Vote Leave stated that a negotiated deal was assured. He states that Parliament must be sovereign, and should take decisions based on fact and what is good for the country. Johnson, one hopes, once believed this too, but has now employed unelected bureaucrats (Dominic Cummings) to deliver Brexit. Isn't this te very thing Brexit was supposed to be against?

In other news, LibDem leader Jo Swinson and Labour deputy leader, Tom Watson, are now going public in their working together. How Watson's actions sit with the blessed leader, St Jeremy is another matter of course.

The Speaker has made it clear that he will be as flixible as possible to ensure the Commons has a say and voice in Brexit over the coming months, Berco still angry that May stopped Parliamentary debate two weeks into a three week process on the MV back in December.

Meanwhile, a "source in Number 10 said: "Hammond and Clarke sabotaged the UK’s preparations to leave. Every day, officials tell us about decisions they took to stop us actually leaving."

"They drove the country into a dangerous cul de sac with a clock ticking towards Oct 31 because they never accepted the referendum result and they fought to overturn it. We believe the referendum must be respected and it will on Oct 31 hopefully with a good deal”

Let us be honest and factual here, the Brexiteers in the ERG voted against Brexit three times. The WA would have represented a very hard Brexit indeed, and something most would have been more than happy with three years before. If Brexiteers are unhappy that the WA is unBrexity enough, then the only logical step for them is no deal. Now they are trying to blame others, those who voted for the WA, as stopping Brexit. How can Brexiteers in stopping the WA not to blame for stopping Brexit, and why are they so chicken-scared of taking responsibility?

I mean, this is literally what happened, if I, an ordinary citizen can see this, why can't highly trained journalists, so ask the same questions of the Brexiteers?

22 Conservative MPs today wrote an open letter to Johnson saying he has set the bar so high in regard to a deal he wants that it is setting up to fail, though saying just two weeks ago that leaving without a deal was a million to one shot. They are seeking confirmation that he is committed to a deal, and that any deal requires compromise. These 22 along with other know anti-nodealers mean over 30 Conservative MPs will not support no deal.

It is impossible to see how the Conservative Party survives any outcome.

Finally, if the Commons is against no deal, cannot support the WA negotiated, and the EU will not reopen the WA, then the only course of action is to revoke A50. Is there enough MPs who will support such a course? If not, and election or referendum is the only way. If they can take control of the order papers.
