The final descent into madness begins

Where to begin?

Well, the Government trying to blame the EU for the inevitable hard border that a no deal Brexit would bring.

It is the UK that is leaving, not the EU kicking us out. I repeat, the Brexiteers who pushed this madness should have identified and mitigated against stuff like this. The CU and SM make for friction-less borders, leaving either would create paperwork and friction.

Simple.

Not for the first time, the UK Government is denying its own Brexit impact study. Not only that, but the Chairman of the Conservative and Unionist Party refused to release the Operation Yellowhammer paper because, and I'm not making this up, "the public wouldn't understand it".

It must be fucking frightening then.

The BBC has been publishing a series of further leaks showing that fuel will be in very short supply, and some local councils are looking at issuing coupons for what it sees as essential workers. If fuel supplies from the EU are interrupted, then the UK would have to rely on supplies from Russia.

Medicines are already starting to be rations. HRT patches are. This is no longer project fear, but reality.

People will die because of no deal Brexit. We need to ask Brexiteers how many people dying is an acceptable price for their precious Brexit?

Is it one?

Ten?

A hundred?

A thousand?

Meanwhile UK officials have been told to stop attending meetings in EU institutions from September 1st, in order to free up time for other Brexit related issues. The vote they would have had in these meetings has been passed on to the EU president. I mean, Brexiteers claimed about not having a say, and yet wen they do, they give it away.

If no deal Brexit is now highly likely, we will see businesses ramping up preparations, investment being withdrawn, and people start to be laid off. Maybe its better this happens in August rather than October.

But for certain, the EU will not remove the backstop, not after the UK has now reneged on it's pledges over citizen's rights for EU citizens. The UK's word can no longer be trusted. But not just the EU will see this, the rest of the world will see it too

Trump might like it, but he will be the only one.
