Risky business

There is about a 1:250,000 chance of getting a clot from the AZ vaccine.

Yesterday, Denmark suspend its use totally.

Other EU countries are limiting its use to older parts of their populations.

In the UK there is a 1:600 chance of dying from COVID.

It is important that we, as a country, and as people, understand the risks for doing something, but also for not doing something.

These are simple statistics, and the evidence is clear, it is far riskier not to take the AZ than to take it.

All vaccines will come with risks, in the US the Johnson and Johnson has a clot risk of something close to 1:1,000,000 but the risks of catching and dying is far, far higher.

Are these really that unreasonable risks, casting doubt on vaccines in general and giving anti-vaxxers more ammunition.
