Rotten to the core

David Cameron, the former PM who has been caught out lobbying for a troubled finance company, stated, at no point was I a member of Greensill's board.

A shame that an e mail sent to Whitehall, from a certain David Cameron references a former member of the Civil Service and called him "fellow board member".

It is rotten to the core.

And the only line of defence they have will be, and is, is that it was not against any rule or law for Cameron or any current or former Mnister of PM to do such work.

There cannot be legislation for everything, but there is a moral duty for those who have held pulic office not to profit from their knowledge and contacts once they return to industry.

That this was done is bad enough, that Ministers are defending it is another, and that there was no law or rule to prevent is is another national disgrace.

But its one rule for them.
