Unintended consequences

The Daily Express has started a campaign for its readers to boycott Spain and Spanish goods after its decision t expel UK migrants who had not completed the required paperwork.

This is the paper that ran dozens and dozens of anti-immigration stories.

But UK migrants are called ex-pats, never understood why, but the EU was always going to apply the same rules on ending our free movement as we would their citizens.

Ending free movement was trumpeted by the Home Secretary, no less.

This is despite UK migrants (expats) were told Brexit would not affect them, despite the goal of ending free movement. When this was pointed out, Vote Leave, who now form most of the Government, cried "Project Fear", and yet, again, here we are.

UK citizens in Italy are finding it hard to get driving permits, and without them they can't drive even to the shops for supplies or to the doctor or hospital.

Another reminder that ths was a political choice by May and Johnson in defining Brexit this way.
