All systems stop

We drove over past Sandwich on Saturday, meaning the line of trucks and lorries making their way from Manston to Dover could be seen coming in the opposite direction.

Not enough to cause a jam, but a constant stream of them. This is because all trucks have to go to Manston to have COVID tests and other paperwork checks, and are only allowed to leave once they're told they can.

Flows are certainly heavier in the mornings for now, as when we came back later we saw no trucks on Saturday afternoon.

Driving along the A2 between Whitfield and Jubilee Way, you can look to the south and see "progress" on the new lorry park.

There seems to have been little progress over the first two onths of the year, still only soil visible, and some plant parked up as I suspect the ground is too soft for any serious work.

Meantime, locals are mounting a legal challenge to the work, Bob's son was surprised when I told him I knew of the park in July, as it seems the Government failed to spread the news to those most affected.

All quiet on the Brexit front for now, though that doesn't mean things are going well in the background, just that no one wants to talk about it; The Government, The Labour Party, the press or the BBC. Just silence as companies go down the pan. Or when it is mentioned, blame is to new regulations imposed by the EU, not on actual Brexit itself.

Sigh,
