PPE update

The Good Law Project has reported this evening that deal done by the UK Government for three contracts for surgical masks and one for sterile gowns are all not fit for use.

The three contracts for masks are all for a "on the ear" design which is not suitable for use in the NHS, due to poor fitting issues making them unsafe for clinical environment. Those are contracts for: £235,000,000 for the masks and at leat £70,000,000 for the gowns which were supplied in wrapping that could not guarantee the contents being sterile.

There is no indication that the Government can or is trying to recover the money wasted in these contracts.

The contracts themselves were not published in the legally required time frame. Some appeared on one database, some on another, then disappeared.

Remeber, this is just for one supplier, Saiger, sourced through a Spanish jeweller who lives in Florida, who himself was paid millions for closing these deals, among others.

The Government is being less than open about these deals, and this is just the tip of the iceberg of some £32 billion spent in a few months, some of which on 36 years supply of sterile gowns whch have a three years shelf flie, when wrapped correctly.

Someone has made a huge sum of cash from these, most have direct or close ontacts to either the Conservative Party or Ministers.

Remember this when you library or hospital is closed down to balance the books.
