Today's online Independent ran a story that a group of Conservative MPs have listed how the UK is now less safe, contradicting Mr Gove's statement to the house a month or so ago, as since January 1st, the UK has no access to the European Arrest Warrant scheme, as well as no longer being a member or EUROPOL or have access to associated databases.
In fact the group called for this whole are to be renegotiated, showing that while most of us have concentrated on the trade and loss of freedoms, Brexit has many other, so far hidden, consequences.
Talking of trade, this comes 12 hours after Michael Gove was replaced by Sir David Frost in overseeing the ongoing Brexit process and discussions with the EU. That he will again sit opposite Mr Barnier shows at least a recognition of continuity and that Frost has knowledge of how the EU actually works.
It is part of a Cabinet Office power struggle, playing out with the future of the nation at stake.
That Frost is a member of the House of Lords now, so is unelected, and we see that he now has a senior Cabinet position, but have no accountability to the House of Commons, so is accountable to the unelected House of Lords, which now has something like 805 members, whereas the elected Commons has 655.
Democracy in action.
And the Government is set on creating new bodies, with no accountability through Judicial Review or FoI requests, shows that the Executive Coup is now coming to their satisfactory conclusion, with us, and the Commons as losers.
Maybe this always was the point of Brexit after all?
