All I want is the same scrutiny over Brexit that is being exercised over the possible reopening of the March to Wisbech line.
The Wisbech line is 7.8 miles long, is mothballed, and is ripe for reopening.
Only, in order to do that, it needs to be proven it will make double the money in fares as it costs to reopen.
So, it needs to be proven, by projections, to make more money than it costs.
Now, Brexit:
All projections, by the Treasury, the Bank of England, the IMF says that Brexit will lose the UK a lot of money. And the harder the flavour of Brexit the more it will cost.
It will be the first trade (non) deal that actually loses both sides money.
The Government, Cabinet and Ministers, even when presented with recent and official forecasts, deny them.
How on earth has the press and media allowed this to happen?
Why do I even need to ask this? A no deal Brexit will cost, on average, the UK economy 7.7% is lost GDP. A loss that can never be recovered. This is the Government's own figures.
If Brexit was a planned railway line, it would be scrapped.
So why are Johnson, Gove et al, so detirmed to push ahead? What's in it for them. And their friends?
And that's what we should really be asking.
