In order to get an election, the BBC is reporting that the Government might table a motion of no confidence in itself.
There are no words.
And then, just as the PM stated, any MP who votes against the Government from now on will have the whip removed, so if an MP votes they have confidence in the Government would lose the whip? Have I go that right?
The right wing press have been getting on Corbyn's case over the election, calling him chicken, when it was a poor play by the PM. There will be an election, but when it suits the majority of Parliament.
The Benn bill forcing the Government to request an extension is expected to be passed by the Lords today, after the Conservatives gave up on Filibustering it. The Tories really can't get anything right this week.
It was confirmed by JRM that Parliament would not be prorogued until the bill is passed. But then a minister let slip that the PM would simply annul the law once an election had taken place.
Johnson really cannot be trusted, so why would anyone?
Johnson ended the day on Thursday making a speech in front of some members of the Yorkshire Police force. One suspects that when planned this was to be the first move in an election campaign. Using the police for such an overt political act has not gone down well. He kept the police waiting, then one of them fainted once he started to speak. Well, ramble. And as the policewoman sank to her knees, he carried on, though made little sense.
A normal day in Brexitlalaland.
