It's all gone Pete Tong

Another extraordinary day in Brexitlalaland.

First of all, the case on prorogation was dismissed on all counts under NI law. This did not come as a surprise, as NO law is similar to English and Welsh Law, but different to Scottish.

The the Liar lied some more, Johnson denied lying to to the Queen. Which, he might be technically correct, as it might be that he and the Privy Council gave incorrect advice, either on purpose or on accident.

But, in order to close the issue, all Johnson has to do is to sign an affidavit setting out the reasons for prorogation. As simple as that, but such a signed statement by Johnson, JRM or a senior Civil Servant has not been produced.

Finally, the written judgement of the Scottish case was released this evening, and is even more damning than the summary:

""it is not unreasonable to comment that even the respondent’s legal team appear to have been kept in the dark about what was about to happen" and:

"put shortly, prorogation was being mooted specifically as a means to stymie any further legislation regulating Brexit."

Wow, that is explosive stuff.

Quite what will happen on Tuesday when the Supreme Court rules on all three cases is another matter. If the Supreme Court finds the same was as the Scottish court, then he would have no choice but to resign, and would possibly be arrested.

As DAG said, they are so inept they can't even undermine the constitution in a competent manner.

To repeat, Lord Drummond Young:

‘Prorogation has the effect of bringing Parliamentary scrutiny to an end... I find it impossible to see that it could serve any other rational purpose’
