Just remember

In 2019, in order to break the impasse over brexit, Johnson met the Irish leader and suggested a compromise regarding Ireland. This became the NIP.

That it came from Johnson, agreed by Frost, negotiated with the EU by Frost, Johnson then elected to implement said WA and NIP, ratified by Parliament is all a matter of public record.

That both Johnson and now Frost sayd their deal, the very deal they literaly wrote, is somehow the issue is an insult to the EU. Frost and Johnson may be playing to the cheap seats of the ERG, but there is an international audience too, and who Frost insulted in his Lisbon speech on Tuesday.

Chris Grey says, quite rightly, that with the headbangers in the ERG and other Brexiteers is they will always want more.

The lesson Frost will havelearned this week, is that by being unreasonable, they got major consessions. So, why not carry on being unreasonable and see what else will happen?

However, the EU wouldn't have given what they didn't want, and if Johnson, Frost want to claim it as thei victory, does it really matter?

Maybe not.

Will this settle Brexit down?

A counter-proposal by the UK was sent to the EU this week, we know it was sent as Frost said so, and the EU hasn't said it hasn't reached them. But the UK Government has so far failed to publish any details. The EU will in time, because its what they do, be transparent, but the UK doesn't.

And remember this was all supposed to be about returning power to Westminster, instead its in the hand of a popinjay yob like Frost, unelected and answerable to no one except Johnson, the kind of unelected bureaucrat Brexit was supposed to be doing away with.
