Not news today

UK records 33,869 new cases and 166 more coronavirus-related deaths, daily figures show.

This did not make it onto the new bulletin at half five this evening. An wl falling into some molasses did. I'm not making that story up.

166 deaths, familes broken and also their hearts, wasn't deemed worthy of being actual news.

Is this where we are now, that 166 deaths or so a day is now somehow acceptable? I mean, that is nearly two Hillsboroughs a day, people taken before their time, and yet this is thought OK, and the Chancellor joked that Civil Servants should get off their peleton and get back to work.

Productivity, as I understand it, hasn't fallen with working from home, and yet the Government still seem to think the nation they represent are actually lazy. This from a Government lead by a PM who missed 5 COBRA meetings at the start of 2020 and his deputy oversaw the fiasco in Afghanistan from an exclusive beach resort on Crete.

But we're the lazy ones.

I get it.

Taxes must rise to pay for the bale outs, but nothing is said about the billions spaffed on PPE through the Government's secret VIP channel which helped doners to the party and their families become overnigh millionaires.

But we're the lazy ones.
