In defence

This morning, Johnson announced a £12 billion spending spree on the military.

He likes announcements.

And yet, it turns out that most of the money announced had already been announced in 2017 and 2019.

So some things never change.

He is creating an RAF Space Command.

We have no capability of getting a matchbox in space without paying for other agencies doing it.

But I digress.

In follow up to yesterdays post about spaffing billions, the Project Moonshot is till going ahead, and with one Dominic Cummings in charge, working from his bedroom. Sorry home office. It has a budget of £16.5 billion. That is not a typo, but twelve billion pounds.

To test one million people a day.

We are not yet at the 100k level Johnson promised by the end of May.

So, this is ambitious. Or just an excuse to spaff some taxpayers cash and enrich his friends.

Oddly enough, our friends at the Taxpayers Allience have been very quiet in relation to the PPE scandal and the billions wated on Moonshot. Yet paying an official at a university £100k a year, and they'll never shut up.

Maybe its a case of looking after the pennies so the pounds can go to our mates?

Funny, that.
