The Home Secretary, Priti Patel, has been found guilty of breaking the Ministerial Code.
For the second time.
After the first, she was sacked, this time she was praised.
Ater sitting on the report for months, and not reading it, Johnson chose to release the report on the last day of ant-bullying week to release an independent report found that she was guilty of, checks notes, bullying.
Johnson rejected the independent report and its author, Sir Alex Allan, resigned. As he told the PM he would do if the report was rejected.
There is now no act committed by a Minister that requires them to resign, and so none that would cause the PM to sack said Minister.
This is the low standards which this Cabinet and Government of the compliant have sunk to.
Thing is, Patel will only keep her job for at most another year, as she is the named subject of another bullying accusation, this time from the former head of the Civil Service, Sir Philip Rutnam, who has refused to take a cash settlement and will take his claim of bullying to an employment tribunal next year. When a Civil Servant does this, let alone one as senior as this, you can be sure there is clear documented evidence.
So, the flange of Ministers and MPs who have Tweeted their support, and the PM who again has failed to uphold the standards that even May kept is for a year, at most, because when Rutnum's case is heard, Patel's position becomes untellable and she will either resign or be sacked.
And all through the last 24 hours, nothing, no words for the bullied, just the bully.
