Monday 2nd November 2020

Back to the working week. Again.

Or the new normal, or not.

With the furlough to end on Saturday night, arrangements had been made for all to return to work this week, meaning for the first time since June, Jolls went to work during the day, leaving me in charge of the house and resident cats.

The alarm went off at half five, it was still dark. Of course.

It was a slow start, and Jools sid not have to be at the office until eight to have her temperature taken, so we do our morning stuff until she left at just gone seven, and I made breakfast for myself so I would be ready for the mornng meeting at half past.

Still no firm details following on fron the shock news of last week, just carry on as normal is the message.

For the day, I have the new task of chasing up calibration suppliers.

The morning passes.

Outside the morning rain gave way to cloudy skies which lifted as the day went on, leaving us with a fine sunset and clear night so we could watch the just past full moon rise away in the east.

Three hundred and seven Lunch was the last of the bread I made on Saturday, with chunky orange marmalade.

Lovely.

And that is it, really.

There was no phys as it turns out we have broke the new cross trainer, it didn't fit together well, as one of the parts seemed bent, meaning we could not put a spacer in the foot end. Anyway, the movement put strain elsewhere, and the screw thread on the main crank came off. Jools saw metal swarf on the floor, so it made me investigate. The nut just fell off. Not a good sign, and would not go back on.

Sigh.

And I was planning on doubling up sessions from that morning. Oh no I wouldn't.

Sigh.

Dinner was warmed up roast beef, fresh roast potatoes, steamed veggies and fresh Yorkshire puddings, smothered in the left over gravy. Warmed up.

And it was as glorious as when fresh, and washed down with fizz, there is nothing beats a mid-week roast.

THe evening was taken with watching Leeds being thrashed by Leicester, 4-1. Very satisfying.

Time for bed.
