Please sir, can we have a deal?

The UK has suspended proposed import checks between NI and Britain for six months from January 1st, 2021, as a sign of "goodwill".

Nothing to do with the fact that the ports in Britain are not ready nor have the required staff.

This is not goodwill, this is coverig up incompitence.

The EU was ready, the UK wasn't. Or the Government wan't ready. Or ready to accept the consequences.

A Goverment Minister, Penny Mordaunt, is in the US trying to drum up a trade deal, framing one that the US is currently proritising the EU over the UK as taking the wrong side in a war. She says: "because peace and prosperity don't happen by accident".

Or

“You want the prospect of a best-in-class deal on agriculture. Think you will get that from the EU?”

Or how about

"Brexit is not an event to be mourned by the international community, or an act of self harm, or one that requires us to be punished ... "

And she closed the speech with this statement:

"We've made our move. Let future generations of Americans not say, in this moment of choosing, you failed to grasp that opportunity. Too many people in the world, many of whom are voiceless, are relying on us both to make the right choice."

I'll leave you with this graph comparing EU countries recovery from COVID and the UK's. Says it all, really.
