Simple maths

On December 16th, the Health Secretary said it was suspected that there were 200,000 cases of Omicrom in the UK.

Cases are doubling at least every 48 hours.

Which means my simple multiplication, those 200,000 cases in ten days become neary 13,000,000.

There have been calls for lockdowns since 10th December. We hear now that the Government is resisting such measures until after Christmas, perhaps even on the 29th, which means that a further doubling, then some, will have occurred.

The Chancellor and several other Ministers are not convinced by the science, apparently. Liz Truss is another who does not trust the science. Maybe we should order her to attend every funeral that will now happen because of their dereliction.

Johnson has no authority to Govern, either from his Cabinet, Parliament or in the country. Many would have ignored a lockdown before Christmas, but he could have tried.

And because the Government won't call a lockdown, businesses such as pubs, clubs, restaurants, theatres and cinemas cannot claim on their insurance, and in the West End almost all shows are suspended due to COVID outbreaks, some theatres and other venues will fail.

Yesterday, another picture was leaked. The shot was taken on May 15th 2021.

This time of Johnson, his wife, their child, and over a dozen other people from Number 10, sitting in the garden of Number 10, informal, drinking wine, laughing. At the time, meeting another person outside was against guidance. There was clear guidance that drinking was not work activity. No matter what stress they were under.

Johnson was less than a month after being on a ventilator in an ICU after catching COVID, and yet her he was, drinking a glass of wine, holding Carrie's hand.

The shot was taken from 11 Downing Street, the Chancellors residence and offices.

The details of the leak is ofter more important than what is in the leak.

Johnson is a dead man walking, he cannot do what's right because his Cabinet and Backbenchers would remove him. So, COVID will rampage through the country, killing hundreds, maybe thousands extra.
