Up go the trimmings, and down come the demands.
For the third year, the UK has dropped major objections, this time in regard to the UCJ, but the questions as it is every year is are these concessions just for Christmas or will they last beyond the end of January?
I don't know.
No one does.
Least of all the EU.
It is likely there is no plan, and that a trade war with the EU might be the ultimate dead cat, but there is a good chance neither Johnson or Frost will be in post by then.
Someone even more hardline and dogmatic might take over, or they might be someone more pragmatic.
Polls show that the country is fed up with Brexit, and the majority want closer links with the EU.
Rumours abound that there are deep talks for the UK to become associate members of the SM and CU. That sounds way too sensible, and would the EU trust the UK to keep its word?
I don't know.
Not only is the country worn out with Brexit, but obviously with COVID too. We just want normal back, its the headbangers now who want more Brexit battles.
Also, the majority now think JOhnson's "oven ready Brexit" wasn't good either.
Johnson and the electorate were warned.
