Cause and effect

Usually, Government policy hs long term effects, sometimes years if not decades hence.

But Brexit meant that those effects of May deciding that Brexit meant leaving the SM and CU would be felt in just over four years.

With COVID, its even quicker than that.

Here is a graph showing UK v EU infections, with the divergance coming with Johnson's "war on experts" to "save Christmas".

This shows the Christmas tree-shaped spike from the beginning of January, where we can see the spike in infections that followed on from five days of relaxing.

Remember, most scientists warned against Christmas relaxing, but Johnson was egged on by the right wing press to "save Christmas". And he did, by causing thousands of deaths.

Was it worth it?

Only you can decide.

We did nothing different from what we had since

the end of October, we stayed safe. We protected the NHS, the Prime Minister encouraged the UK to be reckless, careless and create a surge in infections and then deaths. The dip in all metrics now is being put down to the vaccine, but the reality it is the hard lockdown since Christmas, needed because of the monster that Johnson created.

Cause and effect.

Like with the planned reintroduction of eat out to help out, another opportunity for a super-spreading event from one end of the country to the other. Becasue the first such scheme fed into the second wave on the autumn, so why not have another lockdown over summer?
