Cowards and fascists

It is, perhaps, a measure of Johnson's Government, that they have rushed through and under the cover of COVID the biggest assualt on our rights in modern times.

The right to protest is protected under Human Right laws, and yet the police bill that passed its second reading last night, was unopposed by any COnservative MP even those who spoke passionatly earlier against it.

It is shameful.

Once passed, the police of HOme Secretary can ban any demonstration on the possibility it MIGHT cause nusance to one member of the public.

It is easy to see how this will morph into marches supporting the Government allowed to go ahead, and those against will be banned.

It will also mean crimes against a statue will potentially carry a higher penalty that a crime against a person.

THe steps to a police state and a fascist one is not by one big step, but many small ones.

This is both, and down a path we never though we would see.

Meanwhile, the UK Government critizes the Chinese Government for cracking down on protests in Hong Kong while it does the same thing back home.

THe ironymeter just exploded.

Welcome to your new Britain.
