One year on

At a press conference on March 3rd 2020, Boris Johnson first really talked about COVID, joking he had just come from a hospital where there were infected patients and had shaken hands with everybody.

A month later, Johnson was in a critical condition in a hspital ICU.

Later that same week, he attend a six nations rugby match, where he shook hands with both teams.

The week after, Cheltenham Festival went ahead, and data showed it to be a superspreader event for the region.

Minsiters had close links with the Jockey Club and the racing industry and so gave the event the go ahead. Liverpool also played Roma, where thousands of fans from Italy, some of which brought the virus with them.

Three days later the season was suspended as the Arsenal Manager had tested positive, and so everyone he had come into contact the two weeks previous were to isolate.

That was the 12th.

Since then, life has been on hold.

The point is to show how, after missing 5 COBRA meetings in a row, Johnson did not understand, or maybe didn't care, what was coming. On the 3rd, he decalred the UK well prepared.

I think he was very much mistaken. Or lying.
