The Food and Drink Federation released figures from January on the drop in exorts to the EU.
To say this are frightning would be an understatement:
Salmon exports to the EU fell by 98% compared to Jan 2020,
beef by 91.5%.
Pork (-86.9%)
cheese (-85.1%) close behind.
Exports to Ireland fell by 84.9%.
“Extremely worrying” figures reveal the scale of the disruption faced by UK food & drink businesses in January. Salmon exports to the continent fell by *98%* - effectively a total collapse. @Foodanddrinkfed says post-Brexit paperwork is chiefly to blame.
Meanwhile, the lorry park/processsing area at the White Cliffs Park in Whitfield, Dover is little more than a muddy field still, with some posts and tape in the ground marking out roads, and a few holes dug, scattered around. THis is after over four months.
I'm sure none of this is anything to worry about.
